Academics
CES partners with several tertiary educations institutions to provide academic program to our players. Several options are available to our student athletes ranging from college level programs to technical and vocational training and other professional programs.
College Education
There are 2 colleges in the Cayman Islands where students can pursue courses that earn college credits which are transferrable to Universities in the USA. These colleges are the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) and the International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI).
TVET training
Our student athletes can also pursue a TVET qualification in the Cayman Islands.
Professional based qualifications
The Cayman Islands is world reknown as a global centre for international financial services and is the home of the Financial Services institute. At the FSI our student athletes can pursue a full year Diploma in Compliance or the Diploma in international financial services.
Registration and enrolment process
All CES players will receive assistance with identifying and registering for an academic program which includes information on the eligibility requirements and suitability of the program based on the objectives of the student athlete.
Soccer program
The CES soccer program is offered in partnership with Miami Dade FC, with whom CES has an exclusive partnership to develop players from the Caribbean region and assist them in their chosen football pathway. The full time soccer program entails:
- 12 hours of football training per week
- Nutrition program
- Strength program (4 hours per week)
- Player assessent & career planning – Each student athlete will receive regular individual assessments and advice regarding their chosen pathway
- Education program (12-15 hours of class or studying per week)
- Weekly competitive matches – Players will compete in the Cayman Islands senior football league with CES affiliate, Academy Sports Club on either the 1st Division mens team or the Premier League men’s team.
- Tours – Players will travel twice per year with Miami Dade FC to gain valuable experience and exposure playing against top teams in Europe.
Weekly Soccer/Academic Schedule
Our Soccer Gap Year Schedule includes a course of academic studies with a full time soccer program. Players will typically study 2-3 hours of class per day plus spending 2-3 hours within the CES Soccer Academy.
