GAP YEAR

PROGRAM

The CES Gap Year

The recruitment process in soccer hinges on perfect timing. Spending a year with Caribbean Elite Soccer (CES) in the Cayman Islands after high school or after deciding to take a year out from university, can significantly boost your profile as a prospect. Through advanced training, competitive experiences, and physical conditioning, players can mature and attract the attention of top coaches from universities in the USA.

Given the increasing trend of international recruitment, participating in a program abroad presents an excellent chance for young, ambitious players to face new challenges and elevate their game.

Choosing to take a gap year in the Cayman Islands offers unique advantages. The favourable weather and close proximity to the USA make it an ideal location for intensive soccer development. Moreover, this gap year is an amateur program and does not affect your NCAA eligibility.

During the gap year in the Cayman Islands, players will also be enrolled in an academic program, thanks to CES’ partnerships with various tertiary education institutions. This integration ensures that while you enhance your soccer skills, you also continue your academic journey, preparing comprehensively for your future in the USA.

Compliance with NCAA Rules

Amateur sports organisation

The CES Gap Year Program is dedicated to offering amateur soccer development opportunities and we do not represent professional athletes or negotiate contracts. Our focus is on providing pathways for player growth in America and Europe. We facilitate connections and share players’ academic and athletic profiles with coaches from the USA and Europe for further consideration.

All our services adhere strictly to NCAA and NAIA amateur regulations. We ensure our players maintain their amateur status by educating them on the eligibility rules. All players participating in the CES/Miami Dade FC Soccer program are also required to cover their own expenses.

The purpose of our GAP year program is to create sustainable development paths and help our players achieve their best on and off the field. CES was founded with the goal of assisting young athletes to succeed in the long term, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their eligibility for collegiate athletics and academics.
